Very, very amusing (well, I thought so!)

Do they actually produce cell phones that are just that now ?

You know, I don’t think they do. The site these cartoons come from is wonderful and linked in my ‘media’ links - and each cartoon comes with the code so you can distribute them on your own blogspace, which is very nice and of course not only adds colour to your blog if used sparingly and occasionally but also promotes the cartoon site - which should be promoted, as it’s great! x

I recall buying a phone for my parents was a nightmare. All they wanted and still want is a phone you make and receive calls on - no phone book, even, let alone text messaging. If someone introduced a line of mobile phones for the elderly which were simply wireless phones and that’s it, they’d make a fortune! x

Several years ago I tried to do the same for my mother - trying to find a simple phone with large clear buttons was impossible.
I dont own a mobile phone - they cannot be relied to work on around here - but I have problems with all kinds of similar technology because I have at last managed to grow my nails !

That’s the kind of phone I was looking for. It would be great for senior citizens and the disabled. I was shocked, still am, that no such phone is available. Landlines, sure - I got my parents a special phone for the house with big keys and an alarm button for emergency services - but not where mobiles are concerned. x

I had the same issues finding a large lear numbered watch on a bracelet for her as well - I think the companies are missing a trick here - I prefer to think of it as that as opposed to discrimination.

Yes, I agree. They just don’t think but then, that is rather surprising. You’d expect mobile phone producers, certainly, to look for new markets when you consider that the days of people rapidly switching from phone to phone are over for most of us as the marketplace has kind of settled down, much like that for PCs. x
